Cropani (mainland Italy) to Agrigento on Sicily
Lovely scenery, restaurant terrace on right, we had a nice evening meal and a lovely breakfast there.
Today was a long travelling day so no photo’s along the way, arrived at Villa San Giovanni just in time to raid an atm as we'd run out of euro's before buying our ferry ticket (€33) for the imminent departing ferry to Sicily. Disaster number 1 happened at Agrigento where we headed into the city for petrol. once refuelled getting out turned into a nightmare as the satnav exit route had been long since closed! Numerous attempts at re-routing by our satnav took us through new streets but ended up at the closed exit road! Taking charge by going in the opposite direction to the satnav took us in the correct direction (only one new diversion sign further back) to our destination. Diaster number 2 was our chosen accommodation, in the form of approx 8km of the worst roads experianced so far, not good for a 19 yr old 911. Five days of driving those access roads were not acceptable so after 1 night we decided to move on after negotiating a settlement in lieu of our 5 night stay!
